Top 4 Pergamon Museum exhibits that aren’t the Pergamon

The Pergamon Altar itself is, unfortunately, closed for renovation work until 2019. Is Berlin’s museum of monuments still worth a visit without its title attraction? Absolutely! Here are four ancient treasures just as likely to amaze!

Ishtar Gate
The royal blue gateway was once used to lead spring festival processions from ancient Babylon. It takes one large room and an entire hallway to do the imposing structure justice!

Lamassu
These large Sphinxes were found in the ancient Assyrian capital of Aššur. The protective deities – lion, eagle, and human hybrids – adorned the palace of King Tukulti-Ninurta I.

Aleppo Room
Commissioned by a prosperous Christian living under Ottoman rule, the ornate panels of this 17-century entrance room were created by some of the finest craftsmen of the time!

Mshatta Façade
Walid ibn Yazid reigned the Ummayad caliphate for only a year, never finishing his winter palace. Its façade is now the pride of the Pergamon Museum of Islamic Art. Don’t miss it!

What people are saying about Pergamon Museum

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Well organized access to the most important museums
It would be nice if the duration of the pass could be extended to a 4-6 day option since there are so many interesting museums to visit. It would also be nice if the option to arrange a timed visit in order to avoid the lines (through the tourist information offices) could be arranged in advance by e-mail. In any case, we are grateful for the existing system that contributed to an unforgettable visit to your beautiful city.

Museum Pass Berlin: 3-Day Entry to Over 30 Museums reviewed by PETROS

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Pergamon Museum was worth it alone (skip the line pass was included)
I wish we had more time to see the museums but in 2 days we managed to go to the Pergamon, alto, Nueces and the Knoblauches House (the house is free to anyone, so I suggest using the pass towards museums that charge entry)

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The PERFECT passes for visiting the best museums in Berlin!
Berlin has so many museums, and if you’re a museum lover you can’t go without this pass.. it will save you money if you’re planning to visit more than 3 museums. I definitely recommend it! Be sure to research and check out, which museum you’ll need to book a spot like the Pergamon Museum you’d need to book to enter within a timeslot. This I’ve done when verifying the pass near the Tourist Information point near the Brandenburg Gate.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ If you have limited time this is a must to see the Pergamon!
Arrived afternoon ( used Skip the Line to see Neues Museum in the morning) to find a line waiting with over one hundred people. I walked right by and was in the Museum in 5 minutes! The pass included an audio guide and there is some flexibility with the exact time you enter. Great product.
