Planning Your Paris Visit

What should you know before you arrive in Paris?

In a city this crowded with people and this steeped in tradition, you should decide which attractions you want to see in advance. Know which museums are a must-visit for your group. Make dinner reservations. Decide which neighborhoods you want to explore. Figure out how to beat the crowds at the Musee d’Orsay.

How big is Paris?

If you haven’t been to Paris before, you may be surprised by how sprawling the city is compared to other, more walkable tourist destinations like Rome or Barcelona. (You can certainly walk — but the Métro will help you zip around quicker!) Try to organize your sightseeing by neighborhood, so that you’re not racing across the city several times a day.

How many days should you spend in Paris?

It depends! It really will help to prioritize what you want to see before you go, and map out how long it will take you to see everything on your list. You could easily fill five days with tours and major attractions — but remember to dedicate time to strolling down the Seine, shopping your way through the Marais, and drinking a Kir Royal at a sidewalk cafe.

What people are saying about Musee de l’Orangerie

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ How nice to be able to walk right into this fabulous museum!
Knowing I had limited time in Paris, I didn’t want to spend a lot of my time waiting in line to purchase tickets. This skip-the-line option was the perfect choice to get right into the museum.

Paris: Orsay and Orangerie Museums Skip-the-Line Ticket reviewed by Katherine

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very nice museum with no wait, easy access
This review is based on the access and ease of entering which were flawless. I’m not much of an “Artley” person but this was highly recommended as a must. The museum is a former train station and very nice. It took me about 2 hours as a walked and briefly stopped from time to time. This is a must if you love art and if you don’t then maybe squeeze in if you have the time.

Lee did a wonderful job of guiding us through a very very crowded Love. He was very knowledgeable and gave many insights into the art and sculptures that I had not known before. I recommend Lee and your company highly.

⭐⭐⭐⭐ Definitely worth the skip the line ticket
Seeing Monet’s ‘Water Lilies” in 360 has been on my bucket list for years. I’ve passed the Orangerie several times on various trips to Paris and shook my head at the long lines. This was amazing. We were in so quickly. I loved and was pleasantly surprised by all the other paintings on exhibit as well: Cezane, Gaughin, Renoir, and more.
