Hanoi

If Saigon is the frenetic, commercial heartbeat of Vietnam then gentle, verdant, historic Hanoi is the sedate, intellectual soul of the country. Its leafy boulevards, serene lakes and sweeping white French colonial architecture set the scene as tourists and locals alike seem to go about their business at a pleasingly civilised pace. The city is the administrative capital of the country and its political metronome still beats to communist time, but with a distinctly modern nod towards welcoming tourists from all over the world to enjoy its rich and varied heritage.

What people are saying about Hanoi

★★★★★ Comfortable trip but could do with more leg room!

Nice and comfortable trip back, Julia was also very good; her travel game made all the guests laugh as well as provide ideas for activities in Hanoi.

★★★★★ Excellent tour. Genesis is such a great tour company.

The tour is excellent and our tour guy Cong has a lot of knowledge about the whole tour. Timing is perfect, food is excellent and best of all the limousine van is so comfy! We had a great time. Thank you Cong for a memorable trip to Hanoi! Trang an is so beautiful, the boat ride is so relaxing and we get to see the movie set Kong - the skull!

★★★★★ Lovely people well organised great places to stop off chosen

Picked up on time by driver in comfortable air conditioned car. Same driver was there to take us home as boat docked. 2 1/2 hours little quicker coming back. Much better than the 4 hours other companies were taking. Boat was lovely good buffet lunch on arrival . Spacious comfortable roof top seating to enjoy the views whilst soaking in the sun. A must do extra is the option to kayak in a cove . Was lots of fun cost very little. Stopped to swim at a beach and look around a vast cave was interesting and enjoyable. Afternoon tea served on way back. The crew were really helpful and our guide talked us through the sights on the tour. The prices on board the boat were not inflated just a little more than you would pay in Hanoi. Halong bay its self was beautiful. A must see
